Research Guide - Bibliographies

When you use books, websites or other sources to get information for a project, you must give credit to them in your presentation. This list of sources is your bibliography.

The first thing you need to remember is to take notes on your sources as you use them to find information. (Later you may not remember where you got what).

What information will you need to write your bibliography? Be sure you record these things:

Author (of the book, article or website)
Title (of the book, article or website) also record the title magazines
Publisher (for books)
Place of publication (for books - usually found on the title page)
Copyright date (for books, articles or websites)

For websites be sure to also record:

URL (website address)
Date you went to the website to get the information
